This domain is found at the N terminal of the helicase SEN1. SEN1 is a Pol II termination factor for noncoding RNA genes . The N terminal of SEN1, unlike the C terminal, is not required for growth .
The yeast helicase Sen1 is an ATP-dependent 5'->3' DNA/RNA helicase required for the expression and maturation of diverse classes of non-protein-coding RNAs like precursor tRNAs, rRNAs and small nuclear (snRNA) and nucleolar (snoRNA) RNAs [PUBMED:8943355, PUBMED:15121901]. The C-terminal domain of Sen1 is essential for cell growth, while the N-terminal domain appears to be dispensible [PUBMED:1569945]. This entry represents the N-terminal domain.
